Biography of Nick Chenhall A.L.C.M. L.L.C.M. (T.D.) 
Nick has played in many areas of music since the age of twelve and spent much of his early teens performing in the Working Mens Clubs of South Wales and the West Country. At the age of fifteen he left school, and as a vocal guitarist had his own TV show on HTV West called ‘New Folk’. By eighteen (1975) Nick lived in Germany and had a recording contract with CBS/April Musik in Frankfurt.
At twenty four Nick worked with the Dennis Mann Orchestra in the South West as a guitarist at Pontins and at the same time had a residency at Hollymarine playing keyboards. Nick studied the classical guitar and has achieved both the Associate and Licentiate Diplomas qualifying him to teach music.
Nick met Kelly in 1986 and together they have worked in H M Horfield Prison, Bristol, (Nick did this for eighteen years) as Christian musicians as well as the DCF (Disabled Christian Fellowship) in Bristol. Nick and Kelly have also been Church musicians where Nick was Church Organist and Choirmaster for ten years at St. Anne’s C of E Church, West Heath, Birmingham.
Nick worked for the Royal Shakesphere Company in Stratford playing guitar on Don Juan, As You Like It and The Jovial Crew.
In 1992 Nick and Kelly started working together as Carillon flute and guitar duo for corporate functions, including banks, office parties and military barracks as well as weddings, special birthdays and anniversaries. You can view their website by visiting https://www.carillonmusic.co.uk
Nick toured with the RSC in 1993 playing on The Jovial Crew. Nick plays piano and Church organ, both classical and electric guitars as well as the bass guitar which he played at the Wigmore Hall in London in 1997 in celebration of John Mills’ fiftieth birthday.

Biography of Kelly Chenhall A.L.C.M. L.L.C.M. (T.D.)
Kelly always had a good interest in music from an early age starting with singing and dancing around the house and garden when she was four! As music in school was part of the national curriculum, Kelly learnt to play the recorder and glockenspiel from the age of seven and was also part of her school choir. She began playing violin at the age of nine and so transferred from the choir to being a member of the school orchestra, which involved touring and playing to other schools.
As Kelly grew older so did her music choices. She sang in front of a record producer at the age of sixteen and by eighteen attended many auditions as well as singing in clubs and theatres based in and around the West Midlands area and Great Yarmouth getting recalled for talent competitions and going through into their finals. (Years before ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ came on TV!)
Kelly studied the classical guitar for many years and has achieved both the Associate and Licentiate diplomas qualifying her to teach music. She has also played the flute and bass guitar in Christian and secular bands.
Kelly met Nick in 1986 and sang in Nick’s band at HM Horfield Prison, Bristol (Kelly did this for fourteen years) she also sang with Nick for many denominations as Christian musicians including the DCF (Disabled Christian Fellowship) in Bristol.
Kelly has been teaching guitar freelance since 1989. This has involved working as a peripatetic teacher in St. James’ School, Rubery for one year as well as teaching three years at Birmingham’s Midland’s Art Centre. Kelly also taught classical guitar at two King Edward’s Schools namely Five Ways and Aston. She was also recalled (after she left) to be the internal classical guitar examiner at King Edward’s in Aston for two years. For five years Kelly and Nick would regularly give Christmas concerts for their private pupils to display their musical ability which the parents really enjoyed.
In 1992 Kelly played flute at Birmingham’s Town Hall for the ‘Fabulous Fauna’ and ‘The Journey’ both conducted by Andrew Peggie. This was in conjunction with Birmingham’s ‘Sound It Out’ year. In 1993 Kelly played classical guitar for the Second Guitar City and performed at Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens with them. In the same year she also became part of Birmingham’s Flute Choir.
Kelly and Nick started playing together on flute and guitar in Churches and charity events. Since 1992 they have been working together as Carillon regularly travelling around the country playing at various functions from international book fayres to fine dinning evenings.
