We took part in performing for the Cullompton Town Fayre on Sunday 28th August 2016 after being invited a few months earlier. Although the rain did play its part, which is to be expected of our typically British summer weather, it did not daunt us or the other artists performing that day.
We enjoyed our time there and we also ran a few new numbers including ‘Poldark’s TV Theme’ amongst other TV themes and ‘All of Me’ by John Legend which was one of our recent bride’s requests. It was unusual for us to play without being dressed in black, in a penguin suit and ballgown, but this added to the fun as we were playing in a field on stage in the Gregory Trailer. Picture a mini Glastonbury! 🙂
It was particularly ironic to play Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’ whilst the heavens opened in full glory… Needless to say we and our instruments were protected by being under cover on stage. Although we were set further away from our audience, we were using microphones which helped and some families did come up to us to dance and wave while we played. It made us feel as if we were at a camping holiday with music! 🙂
We are often asked to play special requests that are not in our repertoire and are pleased to do so if advance notice is given.
We are happy to take one or two requests with up to two weeks notice.
We are based in the Exeter area and are happy to travel longer distances while keeping travelling expenses to a minimum.
We also cover the following areas: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire.
